Miss Peregrine Paperback Tour!

It's been ALMOST A YEAR since I've posted anything here -- I live mostly on Twitter, Facebook, and Tumblr -- but I'm stopping back in to announce that Miss Peregrine is coming out in paperback in early June, and I'm going on tour!

I've seen the paperback and it's a gorgeous thing to behold. It also has a long Q&A with me in the back, creepy bonus photos, and a big chunk of the first chapter of Miss Peregrine book II as a teaser! (Miss Peregrine II comes out January 2014, BTW.)

So, tour! I'll be joined by the wonderful and talented Tahereh Mafi on a all stops, and a number of other author friends here and there along the way, TBA! Here's the schedule:

Sunday, June 2 - NEW YORK CITY -- 4pm at Books of Wonder, 18 W 18th St.

Tuesday, June 4 - PHILIADELPHIA -- 7pm at the Fairless Hills Barnes and Noble, 210 Commerce Blvd, Fairless Hills, PA

Wednesday, June 5 - WASHINGTON, DC -- 7pm at the Loudoun County Public Library, 24600 Millstream Drive, Stone Ridge, VA 20105

Saturday, June 8 - SARASOTA, FL -- 11am at Bookstore1, 1359 Main St.

Sunday, June 9 - MIAMI, FL -- 2pm at Books & Books, 265 Aragon Ave, Coral Gables, FL

Monday, June 10 - PETALUMA, CA -- 7pm at Copperfield's Books, 140 Kentucky St

Tuesday, June 11 - BERKELEY, CA -- 7pm at Books, Inc., 1760 Fourth St.

Thursday, June 13 - SANTA MONICA, CA -- 7pm at Santa Monica Public Library, 601 Santa Monica Blvd

Friday, June 14 - SEATTLE, WA -- 7pm at University Books, 15311 Main Street, Mill Creek, WA

Saturday, June 15 - PORTLAND, OR -- Powell's City of Books, 1005 Burnside

Can't wait to meet you, sign books, and maybe even read some non-spoilery teaser bits from Miss P II aloud!

Just wanted to say that I plowed through your book in a day......loved it! Cannot wait for the next chapter in the Peculiar's saga:)
ps- I looked for it after seeing it listed on a site which had a list of 'the 25 creepiest book covers'. I searched them all quickly, and yours was one of two which seemed interesting!

I cannot wait to meet you at the Bookstore in Sarasota this weekend! Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children was amazing and wonderfully written, I have never read anything like it before. I also can't wait for the movie to come out, I just loved the novel a lot.

I just finished the book today and it was truly original and wonderful! I was so excited to hear there will be a sequel!

My only regret was reading as an ebook. This is truly a case where paper is needed to get the full effect of the photos.

Will you be coming to MN? :)

I am one of your greatest fans. I adore Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children, and it would mean the world to me if you visited St. Louis, MO on your tour. Don't get me wrong, I'm not asking you to go out of your way to come to MO but next time you go on a tour (there better be a next time) you should stop in St. Louis.

i stumbled on this book today at the book store.. Here let me start further back i haven't read in about a year, because of the simple fact that i could not find a book that could capture my attention. I used to be an avid reader but then my first year of high-school and no interest in any of the cliche books that are out today for teens. Lately i have developed a strange fascination in "freaks" and side show history and tales. So i went to my local bookstore in hopes to find a book with a bit of this subject and be able to rekindle the love i had for reading. I stayed in the store for about three hours finding nothing. When i finally reached the back corner of the bookstore i decided to give up, it was then when i turned around to leave that i literally tripped over your book that someone had left on the floor i suppose earlier on. The cover is what capitivated me it imediatley reminded me of a carnival advretisment, after reading the prologue i was completely capitivated so thank you for helping me rekindle my long lost love for reading, you truly have a gift and i hope you continue writing

For peculiar children i have recomended it to all my friends and so far they all have said
They woud read it. Im going to try and look for talking pictures cause that looks really good
When i figured out the ending to the first miss peregrines i almost died cause i didnt know they were
Coming out with another one. But i am so excited about hollow city i wish it could come out now
And im extreamly excited about the movie witch i just figured out last nite that they were making one
But not till 2015😫😥i just hope it wont be a carton becuase it is by tim burtin and he is known for making cartons
A carton movie would ruin it because the book had pictures of people in them. Well no matter how the movie goes
Ransom Riggs u r an amazing writter in fact ur books have inspired me to write stories i started one im planning
On making my story very discripted like yours and ive even thrown pictures into them like yours just
So the reader can really picture it. Thankyou so much for writting such an amazing book and a secound one to not
Leave us hanging. Anyways i love what you do and just remember if u ever have time omaha would love to have u

I really liked your first book. I was stucked when me and my step daughter were in the book shop to get a birthdaypresent and I saw your book with that peculiar little girl. I'm looking forward to the second novel and the translation to Swedish. :)

I am a YA author who is moving from historical fiction (book about my ancestors in the witch trials - Book of Maggie Bradstreet)
to attempting fantasy - a world beneath the sea, with selkies. I want to tell you how much I admire the way you were able to create an alternate world, all the loving details that make it so real. I know how hard this is. Your photos helped, but it was the way you entered the characters' lives that makes it work. Congratulations, and I look forward to Peregrine II.

I can't believe I saw this post now, in August! And you've been to NYC in June. I thought this blog was dead for good. I even though Miss Peregrine's 2 would become an urban legend.
Damn it! I will stick to Facebook from now on...

So sorry I missed you in Santa Monica! After reading book 1, I am a Ransom fan 100%. I'm a few decades older than "Young Adult" and just loved this read!. Then I became a fan of your awesome videos, each one so unique, such thought provoking stuff. Next, yes, bought Talking Pictures and loved that, will never look at an old photo the same way. Such precious pieces of history they are now.
So, I , too, can not wait for January when Peculiar II comes out! And what about the movie? Is it a go? Will find you on Facebook. Thank you and best wishes for continued success!!
PS. Since I love old creepy haunted houses I love to peruse Pintrest, etc. but always think of your video(s) when I see a particularly gorgeous one!
